Entry #3 Education in Arizona

The article by Doug Ducey is written to inspire students to want to further their education whether it be college or going into the Armed Forces and use that to get a college education. He talks to us like he is our friend and not just our Governor. He lets us know that he too is a father and husband and wants to make others not feel alone when it comes to getting and education and bettering your life. He then goes onto telling us how many more opportunities you can reach by getting a degree or certificate after high school. Ducey then informs us, "The reality is that educated households have better long-term financial stability". Having a stable job and income because of a college education can set you up well in life. Ducey wants to get 60% of Arizona citizens equipped with a college degree. He plans to get all of this done by increasing the budget for all levels of school. "In this year’s budget, we added $142 million to K-12 education – above and beyond the voter-approved Proposition 123. For universities, we approved an additional $38 million" (Ducey). He writes this article in a way that makes parents and students not feel alone. He wants us to feel inspired to want to further our education and proceed in our life being successful and being able to have financial stability throughout our life. College may not be for everyone but for the people who work hard enough and want to achieve higher learning will do their best to achieve that goal.
